CITB NI Construction Careers Bootcamp
The Technology Department took a group of 23 Year 10 and Year 11 pupils to the CITB NI Construction Careers Bootcamp on Tuesday 4th June 2024.
The trip offered an opportunity to delve deeper into the world of construction careers. Pupils explored the diverse roles and pathways within the industry and engaged in hands-on construction job sampling activities in Joinery, Brickwork, Painting & Decorating and Wall & Floor Tiling.
The activities were organised and delivered by an approved training provider (People 1st) and were in CITB NI’s newly developed simulated construction site. These activities were designed to enhance pupils’ understanding of the requisite skills and assist them to identify the trade occupation that aligns best with their interests and skill set.
All our pupils enjoyed the hands-on experience, with many having never tried any of the skills being taught.
