In the first three years at Nendrum College pupils will receive three periods each week (1 hour 45 minutes). Pupils can then opt to study History at GCSE level.

Changing Relations: Northern Ireland and its Neighbours, 1920–49 

External written examination 60%
Unit 2: International Relations, 1945–2003 External written examination 40%

At KS4 our pupils follow the CCEA GCSE History Specification. This specification aims to encourage pupils to be enthusiastic about studying History; develop effective and independent learners with enquiring minds; develop the ability to ask relevant and significant questions about the past, to investigate issues critically and to make valid historical claims using a range of sources; develop an awareness of how the past has been represented, interpreted and given significance for different reasons and purposes; and develop the ability to effectively communicate historical knowledge and understanding in a range of ways, argue a case, make judgements and reach substantiated conclusions.
